GPDQ’s doctor-on-demand app launches in Central London

As the average waiting time to see a GP increases to 7-10 working days, GPDQ, the UK’s first on-demand app that delivers a doctor to your door, has launched in Central London with plans to expand across the UK.

The new GPDQ service has launched on OS and Android, allowing patients to arrange an appointment with a private GP at a location of their choice. Appointments can be booked 7 days a week, from 8am to 11pm.

The doctor behind the app, Dr Anshumen Bhagat, a North London GP with 15 years experience in the NHS and private healthcare sectors, comments on the launch of the new service:

“GPDQ is digitising the home visit – it really is that simple. Patients benefit from speed and flexibility, with the ability to see a doctor when and where it suits them, booking and tracking their GP through their smartphone. Our 25 minute appointments allow for a more in depth consultation and our 2 hour prescription delivery service offers an extra level of convenience.”

The CQC approved service puts all GPs through rigorous screening, a face to face interview process and intensive training before they go live on the service. Thereafter, GPs receive continuous professional development support, with access to educational materials and events, to help maintain GPDQ’s high level of service.

GPDQ helps busy people get on with their lives, rather than worrying about taking time off work to go to a doctor’s appointment or having to take their children to the surgery. A selection of the features are listed below:

·         Patients can request a GP and track their progress from their smartphone

·         Patients have a full 25 minute consultation with a GMC registered doctor that has undergone GPDQ’s intensive patient care training programme

·         GPs can issue private prescriptions which can be delivered within 2 hours in Central London

·         Payments are made simply and safely via the app

·         Users can book and pay for an appointment on behalf of someone else (e.g. child)

The GPDQ apps are now available to download for iOS and Android.

[…] The app works like an Uber for doctors, you register as a member and within a few clicks you’ll have a certified physician arriving at your door within ninety minutes. There are doctors on call all year round from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. and you are guaranteed to have at least 25 minutes of their time. Additionally the GPDQ doctors can issue a private prescription that will be delivered to your residence within 2 hours. […]
